UZURV is a 170+ person, growing technology company based in Richmond, VA. The company operates in 15 states and is now expanding nationally. As an Adaptive Transportation Network Company, the UZURV mobility platform serves individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and others who need assistance with independent transportation.
UZURV’s platform combines rideshare with specialty credentialed, drug and alcohol tested drivers to provide safe, reliable mobility and a higher level of care for the transportation disadvantaged. It’s a technology platform and service that helps people who need assistance getting where they need to go. A little bit about the role…
The Driver Safety and Claims Coordinator will assist to ensure the safety, regulatory compliance, and reliability of UZURV's transportation services. This role is pivotal in overseeing driver safety programs, managing auto insurance claims, and maintaining compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations. As the Driver Safety and Claims Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
Driver Safety Management
- Utilize performance reports, telematics, and safety audits to continuously monitor driver behavior, ensuring compliance with company and FTA safety standards.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on safe driving practices, accident prevention, emergency response, and FTA safety standards.
- Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and safety incidents, gathering necessary documentation and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Regularly audit vehicles to ensure compliance with FTA safety standards, including accessibility features, maintenance schedules, and proper use of safety equipment.
Auto Insurance Claims Management
- Act as the primary contact for all auto insurance claims involving company vehicles, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and documentation.
- Collaborate with insurance companies, transit agency partners, drivers, and internal teams to investigate accidents, assess liability, and compile necessary documentation.
- Maintain detailed records of all claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with insurance policy and FTA requirements.
- Serve as the intermediary between the company, insurance providers, and legal teams to ensure efficient claims processing.
Regulatory Compliance – FTA Requirements
- Ensure all paratransit operations comply with FTA regulations, particularly 49 CFR Part 655 and 49 CFR Part 40, overseeing drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Oversee compliance with FTA safety standards, including vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and safety protocols.
- Ensure timely reporting of accidents to the FTA and relevant authorities, adhering to established procedures.
- Conduct regular internal audits to verify FTA compliance and prepare for external evaluations, addressing any identified gaps.
Driver Performance Monitoring
- Regularly evaluate driver performance using monitoring systems, incident reports, and feedback, providing constructive feedback to promote safety and compliance.
- Address performance issues by developing action plans, which may include retraining or additional monitoring.
- Generate and distribute reports and alerts to highlight performance trends or concerns, ensuring prompt attention to safety risks.
We are excited about you because…
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Business, Risk Management, or a related field (preferred).
- You bring 3-5 years of experience in paratransit or transportation safety management, with a strong focus on FTA regulations and insurance claims handling.
- You are highly detail-oriented and organized, able to meet deadlines and maintain accurate records under regulatory frameworks.
- You have strong knowledge of FTA regulations, particularly around safety, drug and alcohol testing, and vehicle accessibility standards.
- You are experienced in investigating auto insurance claims and navigating the claims process efficiently.
- You are an effective communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You are proficient with fleet management systems, claims management software, and the Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools.
- You have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
